How on earth does one do anything for children whose houses have been bombed? For terrified grannies? For the injured and maimed? It's hard, really, from far away. But it was hard to refuse the invitation to do one 24th of a vigil for Gaza (needless to say, getting up and facing the cold was a little bit tough too) (relatively speaking)...
